"Unsanctioned" re-coded in ChoiceScript

Hello everyone!

I made an update on my development blog some time ago letting people know that I've been re-coding "Unsanctioned" in ChoiceScript. Last night I made the ChoiceScript demo publicly available.

I've taken some time away from "Unsanctioned" to work on my other interactive fiction project, and I wanted to reach a certain point in that story before getting back to this one. Since that project is being developed using ChoiceScript I've been working with two different coding languages. For someone who's as messy and disorganized as I am that's a bit of a nightmare, unfortunately. After trying to work on both stories I realized that I'm making more errors because I'm mixing up the different coding languages and their respective "rules".

Due to this and a few other reasons I made the decision to re-code "Unsanctioned" in ChoiceScript and continue working on it in ChoiceScript for now. To begin with I've decided to simply re-code what's available of the demo and see if I think it works according to my vision. If I discover that there are too many limitations I didn't take into account, I'll continue working on the game in Twine.

I'm primarily making this choice because it'll allow me to divide my attention between the two stories more easily. I really long to return to this IF and I think that this is going to make the coding process smoother. Another reason for me to rethink things were the recent changes to itch.io, which I'm sure many of you are aware of. Hopefully there are alternative platforms where 18+ Twine games and 18+ IFs can be published.

The Twine game will remain available for the time being since I could very well end up returning to it :) I don't want to make any hasty choices but rather just see what benefits my work-flow for now. I'll keep you all updated regarding that and will let you know what route I'll end up taking in the end!

I've slowly begun working on the next content update in ChoiceScript, though, so for now the story will be updated there.
